EVALUATION PROCESS

WHERE IT STARTS

At Athlete PRO every client starts with a full evaluation, this takes a complete look at you functionally, but most importantly we listen to your story of what led you here and where you would like to go! This is something that is commonly overlooked but it gives us the clear guidelines to make a personalized approach get you back on track and to new found performance. When we identify things that are not optimal we view these not as limitations but opportunities for improvement in performance.

FULL REVIEW

After we review your story and what led you here, we take a look at what is bothering you. An example an elbow, low back or foot injury. Once we hone in to the local issue we look above and below the joint to see if a limitation is causing more stress at the site of your injury.

Once we establish a baseline on the table is it time to take you onto the turf and get a full functional picture. This progress includes a functional movement screen to identify what faults you may have in your global movement patterns to confirm movements that could be causing or increasing your injury. After the screen you will complete any functions of your sport, running/gait analysis, squat, press, deadlifts, or any other movement that is functional to you.

CREATE A PROTOCOL

Then we bring all this information together to create treatment protocol that will be the most effective for the fastest and best result. This varies depending on the athlete and the injury. Most sessions consist of soft tissue work with deep tissue laser, PEMF therapy, IASTM, cupping and active motion release. These are all used to reduce pain increase range of motion and accelerate healing.

GET OUT ON THE TURF

After balancing your muscle tension, we head out onto the turf and start with some movement preparation for your session. This warm up is designed to fit the work we will be completing during that session. It is specific to you, your movement opportunities and what we are trying to complete that day.

GET YOU TO THE FINISH LINE

From here we will work on movement foundations. Really dialing in and cleaning up form to help your body share the load between tissues instead of overloading the injured areas. After this we will conclude with going over some home programming to reinforce what we went over that day and maintain your progress. Each session will build on the last with a steady progression getting you closer to your end goals!
