SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION
IASTM
Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization is a technique in which we use metal tools to glide along the skin in various directions depending on the desired effect. This can be utilized for many conditions as part of a treatment plan to down regulate your pain, increase range of motion and blood flow to the area.
ACTIVE CUPPING
Many people are familiar with the cupping technique. You apply cups to the skin which provides a negative pressure on the skin and fascia to react with the nervous system and provide an increase in blood flow locally. Here at AP we take that to the next level and always have the athlete move through a full range of motion and applying load to the involved tissue to further increase blood flow and desensitizing the nervous system. This is extremely effective for increasing range of motion and decreasing pain in the lower back or other areas of muscle dysfunction.
